 This is Feat Charm #36. Given to the newest member of Little Feat, Shaun Murphy last year. Shaun was spotted on TV wearing the charm on "Entertainment Tonight" During the interview and the performance by another Charm owner from Phoenix, Az. This Sterling Charm features a Gold plated Bow Green Enameled Eyes, and Red lips! No more charms will be made. |

History:
I was in a band called Jonesin' for over 8½ years, & we played a lot of Feat stuff, as well as our own music. We backed such acts as Santana, Marshall Tucker, U2, Sea Level, Elvin Bishop, Commander Cody, many more. A roadie for us prompted me to make this out of his old wedding rings (I've been a jeweler for 15 years now). When I had finished, I made a mold to reproduce it. My sister Julie* had worked with Richie Hayward in L.A., & got me his address. I sent out a 14K version in appreciation for all the great chops I stole over the years, and a few months later, I got a message on my machine to call back. I talked to Richie and the Management but the charms were too expensive for them to market, so they gave me the green light to produce & sell on my own through Featprints. I didn't pursue this as much as I could, because I want them to be on a limited basis. Hence, the numbers on the bottom. In the summer of 1992, I took a trip to Somerset, WI., where I got the chance to go to the concert. The guy I made it for & I watched from backstage & had a chance to meet & talk to the boys. (his original has since landed at the bottom of a lake!) Each of them were given at least a silver charm. (no #'s at that time) Note-----
In 1995, when Shaun Murphy joined the band, I sent a couple out to
Richie. A friend was watching "Entertainment Tonight" and saw Shawn
in the interview wearing the charm. She also noticed it in the performance

Jewelry business was based on making pieces to order, with your materials
or mine. I was in the wholesale trade for many years, and working
with me usually cut out many hands in the money chain. I am currently
working in retail sales in the Chicago area. *Julie Christensen has been a Singer/Writer in the LA area for over 20 years now. She regularly tours & records with Leonard Cohen, has recorded with the likes of Iggy Pop, Van Dyke Parks, & Todd Rundgren (unreleased 12 song project of her originals, Todd Producing, Guitar & backing vocals). She has contributed to sound tracks for the movies "Echo Park", and "The Rapture", and appeared singing in "Bugsy" and "Bachelor Party". One of her songs was the lead off tune for the 4 song Katy Segal EP (Julie & Katy were in the "Stepsisters" together). See also- stonecupid.com |
